Colegas les comparto unos fragmentos de mi Valedictorian Speech del 2001

Four years ago we were leaving behind our childhood to grow up and trace the patterns towards our future. A future that is no longer apart of our reach, that each day is closer and is coming true. The dream that we all once had is the reality that we live today which is fruit of our trajectory, perseverance and will.
Today, we can say that we are more responsible and mature beings, capable of facing the challenges that could come up in our way towards success. Today, I can affirm to you that all this growth has been accomplished thanks to all that we have learned here our formation not only has embraced academic limits, but also has gone through them to offer us lessons of life that will never be forgotten.
All of us have had different experiences during this period, ones are good and others no that good. However the common fact of this is summarized and focused in those that lead us to meet the true meaning of friendship, life and that not everything can be reached on the first try.
As Carl Sagan said “We are like butterflies who flutter for a day and think that is forever”. That is true; however let’s never forget that true friendships are those that last forever through distance and time. We know that since this very precise moment things will change and nothing will be the same. Each of us will face a different world and maybe a different place, but remember that the only baggage you can bring is all that you can’t leave behind.
Through whatever lies ahead we will be able to cherish the memories close to our hearts, and we’ll always be grateful that we were able to spend this special time together sharing a little bit of ourselves with each other. Each and every one of us will someday be able to look back and remember how our time in college developed our personalities, shaped our futures and prepared us to deal with life many obstacles.
So as we end a chapter in our journal of life and board into an unchartered sea, we will treat the uncertain waters with caution, knowledge and respect. For although we can’t see the ocean floor, but we have enough courage to look deep within and make the changes we know we can. The knowledge is not to disturb the good that is already there and the self respect is to be the best that you can be.

Mil Besos,

Meg
